Position Title: Student Ministries Pastor (full-time salaried position)

​

Position Description: The primary role is to provide leadership and guidance in the youth group as well as administrative oversight over children’s and young adults ministries, providing a strong, theological structure for our families with the end-goal of seeing our young people move into adulthood with a strong biblical worldview and a personal passion for Christ and his glory. The Student Ministries Pastor will also be involved in other church ministries such as preaching, teaching, counseling, and general support of other church programs. It is expected that the pastoral staff will pray together, plan together, and develop a close spiritual and ministry bond. It should be assumed that he serves with the full weight of the pastoral position (1 Timothy 4:12). As an overseer (1 Timothy 3:1), elder, and pastor (1 Peter 5:1f). He will thus share in the total ministry of the church.

  • Youth Ministry (Direct Involvement)

    • Direct involvement with anything related to youth ministry. 

    • Oversee and lead the Sunday morning and Wednesday evening youth gatherings.​

    • Plan and organize youth activities, including camps, retreats, and mission trips.

    • Provide training for those serving with teens.

    • Communicate regularly with parents.

    • Meet with students and parents for discipleship as needed.

    • Oversee the safety of the youth group.

  • Children's Ministry (Administrative Oversight): â€‹

    • Be responsible for the direction and philosophy of all children's ministries.​

    • Oversee and collaborate with Sunday School, Children's Church, and Awana volunteers.​

    • Be responsible for the review, assessment, and implementation of children's ministry curricula. 

    • Work with security team to ensure the safety of our children.

    • Provide training for those serving in children's ministries.

    • Communicate regularly with parents.

  • Young Adult Ministry (Administrative Oversight):

    • Be responsible for the direction and philosophy of young adult ministries.​

    • Train and equip those leading young adult ministries.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrate a clear salvation testimony.

  • Possess the desire for pastoral ministry and meet the pastoral qualifications of 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.

  • Strong ability to preach and teach clear Biblical truth in a way that is accessible for children and teens. 

  • Skilled in youth discipleship and development of young leaders.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and administrative and managerial ability.

  • Skilled in event planning, organization and communication.

  • Alignment with the Articles of Faith and By-Laws of Faith Baptist Church of Palm Bay.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree from Bible college or seminary preferred.

  • Two or more years of related experience preferred.

  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

​
