Whether you're newlyweds, navigating the complexities of parenting, or walking through the retirement years together, we encourage you and your spouse to join us for our Weekend Marriage Conference with Dr. Stuart Scott.

Starting on Friday evening and then running through Saturday afternoon, this short but packed conference will equip you with a wealth of Biblical knowledge and counsel to help strengthen your marriage according to God's good design. Dr. Stuart Scott, an experienced counselor, teacher, and writer, will be our guest speaker for this conference. Dr. Scott is the author The Exemplary Husband, From Pride to Humility, and many others (see speaker bio below).

Childcare Provided: We want to make it as easy as possible for you to attend, so we'll be offering a children's program for the duration of the conference for kids 11 years old and under. Simply include your kids' names & ages in your registration and drop them off at the kids' table when you check in.

Dr. Stuart Scott

Dr. Stuart Scott teaches in the area of biblical counseling at Bob Jones University and Seminary in Greenville, South Carolina. He also teaches adjunctly at The Master’s University graduate and post-graduate programs in Santa Clarita, California as well at Southern Seminary and Faith Seminary. He brings more than 40 years of experience in counseling and pastoral ministry, including nine years as associate pastor of family ministries and counseling at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, CA, serving under John MacArthur. He serves currently as the Member Care Director and a Fellow with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC).

Dr. Scott is the author of The Exemplary Husband; From Pride to Humility; Communication and Conflict Resolution; Anger, Fear and Anxiety; Biblical Manhood, Leadership and Decision Making; Help! Someone I Love Suffers From Traumatic Brain Injury; The Faithful Parent: A Biblical Guide for Parenting (co-authored with Martha Peace); Killing Sinful Habits: Conquering Sin with Radical Faith (co-authored with his wife, Zondra Scott) and 31 ways to be a One-another Christian (co-authored with Andrew Jin). Most recently, Wayward Children: Finding Peace and Keeping Hope. He has contributed to Think Biblically, Christianity and Counseling – Five Approaches and co-edited Counseling the Hard Cases.

Dr. Scott and his wife Zondra have two grown children, and two grandchildren. They currently live in Greenville, South Carolina.

Session #1 - "Calibrating the Heart's Compass"

Before understanding what Scripture says about godly marriages, we'll consider our purpose as human beings. This session will explore humanity's created purpose of glorifying God, what stands in the way, and how we can practically fulfill it. It's only after we commit to glorifying God with our lives that we can begin glorifying God in our marriages.

Session #2 - "Spirit-Filled Marriage"

God has given both husbands and wives different roles in marriage, but these roles can only bring glory to God if followed with a heart of Christlike love. This session will explore the biblical foundation for marriage and provide practical instruction and application for both husbands and wives.

Session #3 - "Spirit-Motivated Humility"

Perhaps the biggest barrier to a biblical, healthy marriage is pride. This session will unpack the manifestations of both pride and humility and provide practical instruction on cultivating a heart of humility.

Session #4 - "Spirit-Guided Solutions"

It can be hard to discern the source of marital conflicts, let alone determine the best solution. God's Word provides grace and guidance for the disagreements and conflicts that arise in our marriages. We'll compare and contrast sinful and biblical approaches to conflict and learn practical steps toward resolving them.

Session #5 - "Spirit-Fueled Parenting" - (optional)

In this optional session at the conclusion of our conference, we'll explore the biblical instructions for parents as well as provide comfort and encouragement for parents with wayward children.
