Judas: A Case Study in Greed
October 20, 2013 Speaker: Louis Schulz
Topic: Sunday AM Passage: Acts 1:15–1:20
This message is a continuation of the character studies of people recorded in the book of Acts. Peter declares to the 120 believers that scripture in Psalms was fulfilled when Judas, who was a part of the inner circle of disciples, betrayed Jesus, purchased the field and took his own life there. An examination of Judas' life as it is recorded in the gospels and in th ebook of Acts reveals he had a life-dominating battle with the sin of greed. We can examine our own struggles with putting the pleasures of this world above living by faith seeking to honor God instead of longing for what the world offers.
